Renting a unit
Who it is for
Customers.
What you can do
- See every active facility at
/rent, marked units available, full right now, or online rentals off. A full or closed yard stays linked so you can still see sizes, prices, and the map. - Open a facility to see units available for online move-in, including dimensions, features, description, and photos when those are set. Filter by size and features, and choose a move-in date.
- Reserve a unit or move in online when the facility allows it.
- View a public map of the facility.
How it works
- Routes:
/rent(app/rent/page.tsx) and/rent/[facilityId](app/rent/[facilityId]/page.tsx). - The catalog loads through
listPublicCataloginactions/publicCatalog.ts, which callslistAvailableUnitsinactions/rentals.ts. - Reserve calls
reserveOnline; move-in callsmoveInOnline, both inactions/rentals.ts. They require a signed-in customer (verifySession). A unit must be vacant and have online move-in allowed. - The facility list comes from
listPublicFacilitiesinactions/rentals.ts.
Limits
- Reserve and move-in require a signed-in customer. A signed-out visitor sees
Sign in to reserve or move inand cannot complete either action. - A unit must be vacant and allowed online.
- The public page shows only units marked for online move-in.
- The facility policy can turn online move-in off and can turn reservations off. The Reserve and Move in buttons stay on the page and are disabled. Not every facility accepts both.
